Escucha mini relatos en Past Simple y Past Continuous. Identifica personajes, lugares y secuencias.

Escucha y repite. Fíjate en los verbos y marcadores temporales.

Yesterday evening, I walked home in the rain.

While I was cooking, the phone rang.

They didn’t see the sign because it was getting dark.

We arrived late, but the concert hadn’t started yet.

  • Past Simple para secuencias: first, then, finally.
  • Past Continuous para fondo/acción en curso: while, when.

Listen:

I was leaving the office when I realized my keys were missing. I checked my desk, my bag, and even the kitchen, but I couldn’t find them. Finally, I remembered I had lent them to a colleague at lunch.

1) Enfoque de escucha

  • Primera pasada: idea general (quién, dónde, qué pasó).
  • Segunda pasada: detalles (tiempos verbales, conectores, cifras).
  • Tercera pasada: repetir en voz alta 3–5 frases clave.

2) Past Simple vs Past Continuous

  • Past Simple para acciones completas (arrived, won, lost).
  • Past Continuous para acciones en progreso con when/while (was/were + -ing).

3) Tips de pronunciación

  • Ed /t/ /d/ /ɪd/: walked /t/, played /d/, wanted /ɪd/.
  • Conecta was/were + -ing: we-rə ˈweɪ.tɪŋ.

4) Preguntas frecuentes

¿Puedo mezclar tiempos en un mismo relato?

Sí. Usa Past Continuous para el fondo y Past Simple para los eventos puntuales.

¿Cómo mejoro mi acento?

Repite en voz alta, grábate (usa el grabador de esta lección) y compara con el original.
