⚠️ Errores comunes

  • enjoy to do → ✅ enjoy doing.
  • want doing → ✅ want to do.
  • need that you help me → ✅ need you to help me (objeto + to).

💡 Con want/need/would like usa to. Con enjoy/finish/avoid usa -ing.

Infinitivo vs. gerundio

El infinitivo (to + base) se usa mucho para intenciones/planes: I want to go. El gerundio (verb + -ing) se usa tras verbos de gusto/hábito: I enjoy reading.

Con verbos como need/ask/tell/want puedes usar objeto + to: They want us to join.

Verbos que aceptan ambos

like/love/hate/start/begin aceptan to o -ing: I like to read / I like reading. En este nivel no hay gran diferencia.

Preguntas frecuentes

¿Puedo decir enjoy to do?

No. Con enjoy usa -ing: enjoy doing.

¿Y want doing?

No. Usa want to do.

¿‘Try’ cambia de significado?

En este nivel, mejor usa try to do. (Más adelante verás try doing con sentido de “probar algo”.)
